Singapore Changi Airport
Singapore Changi Airport With its vision of being the world's best airport and a global air hub, the airport has garnered many awards every year. Serving more than 60 airlines to over 145 cities, it is a major air hub in the Asia Pacific region. Since its early days in 1981, Changi Airport has come a long way and it now has 2 terminals, with the third one under construction.

More importantly, Changi Airport does what an airport should be doing best - providing speedy and hassle-free clearance. Arriving passengers take less than 30 minutes to clear immigration, claim their baggage and go through customs procedures. Departing passengers will also find similar conveniences while going through the departing process.

Singapore Changi Airport has once again been voted the Best Airport in the World by the US based Conde Nast Traveler magazine.  This is the third time Changi has picked up the Best Airport title in the annual Top 100 : Readers' Choice Awards.  Changi Airport has also, for the 10th time, won the Best Airport in the World award at the 13th Annual Travel Industry Awards, organised by the US edition of Business Traveler. 

Readers of The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph, a UK newspaper, have also voted Changi the Best Airport 2001.  This is the 4th consecutive year Changi is receiving this award in The Telegraph Travel Awards Poll.

In October, Singapore Changi Airport has been voted the "Best Airport in the World" in a reader survey conducted by the UK/Europe edition of Business Traveller magazine.  This is the 14th consecutive year Changi has received the award.   Changi Airport was voted first for luggage retrieval and customs clearance in the survey as well. The award was presented to Mr Wong Woon Liong, Director-General of Civil Aviation by Britain's Princess Anne in a ceremony held in London on 3 October 2001.

Changi Airport has also been voted "Top Overseas Airport" in the recent Wanderlust Travel Awards 2001.  This is the second time Changi is receiving this award.
