EXPLOSION PROTECTION
Euromech 1
Euromech protection for diesel engined
vehicles operating in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas.
Euromech protection controls surface
temperature, prevents flame or spark emission from the exhaust system,
ensures the prevention of air inlet flashback and engine overspeed. A
control system continually monitors coolant and exhaust temperatures
which will instigate truck shutdown in the event of high temperatures.
The Pyroban SVD inlet air shutdown valve will shut automatically in the
event of engine overspeed...........
Ex-tec protection for mobile electric
vehicles operating in Zone 1 hazardous areas.
Pyroban Ex-tec conversions incorporate the
modification of the complete electrical installation of a vehicle to
comply with CENELEC European standards for electrical apparatus for use
in explosive atmospheres.
Electric motors are housed within flameproof
enclosures certified to European standard EN50018. Surface temperatures
are monitored and truck shutdown occurs if temperatures rise above the
specified temperature class......
System 5000E -
safety solutions compliant to European Directive 94/9/EC
(ATEX) group II, category 3G, for diesel powered
vehicles intended for use within Zone 2 areas.

• The System 5000E gas detection system has allowed the
elimination of the exhaust flame trap and spark arrestor
associated with traditional diesel protection, thereby

TYPE D RANGE Automatic Air Intake Overspeed Shut Down
Valves
Suitable for Zone 1, Group IIB, T4 Hazardous Area Applications
D Series
Engine Intake Shut Down Valves Simple cost effective automatic overspeed protection valves
requiring no external power or signals. Designed for incorporating into
the engine air intake hose. Type D valves are available for intake pipe
diameters up to about 229mm. Optional features include manual shutdown
and integral air cleaners on some models.
SPLINDLE TYPES
Sizes to suit engine ratings from 61kW (82hp) to 600kW (805hp) and
intake diameters from 70mm to 229mm.
BENDIX TYPES
Sizes to suit engine ratings from 1kW (1hp) to 101kW (136hp) and intake
diameters from 32mm to 108mm.
AUTO-MANUAL TYPES
All standard Bendix and Spindele types are also available with the
addition of a "T" handle and cable assembly to enable manual shut down.
INTEGRAL AIR CLEANER TYPES
All Bendix valves are available with the option of an integral air
cleaner. Types D34F, D35BF and D39BF are only available with an integral
air cleaner.
