It's coming up roses for winning florist
Mr Lim has more than 6,000 regular customers, who
described him as a warm and helpful person.
FLORIST Christopher Lim makes a point of nothing down bad service everywhere he goes and shares his experiences with his staff.
The owner of Christanio de Florist in Upper Serangoon Road said: " For instance. I notice Asians sometimes get bad service whereas Caucasians are served promptly.
"I do not like being treated like that, so I tell my staff about my encounters and remind them not to do that to our customers."
His 13-year-old shop clinched the American Express Service Excellence Gold Award yesterday for the third consecutive year in the retail service (excluding fashion) category.
Mr Lim, 32 also keeps a record of more than 6,000 regular customers, with details they pay by credit card or cash. "By recording these
things, we can give customers personlised service. they feel good when you bother to remember details about them."
One of his customers, who has been patronising his shop for more than 10 years, is Mrs Daljit Singh, director of D.J. Builders and Contractors.
She recounted an incident which showed Mr Lim's personalised service. "Once, I needed a hamper delivered to a client very late at night and I called him up. He did it immediately. I was so surprised. No other florist would have done that for me."
