Vision
To be a leading economic development agency in tourism, always
setting new benchmarks and pioneering best practices.
Mission
We develop and champion tourism, so as to build the sector into a key
driver of economic growth for Singapore.
The Singapore
Tourism Board (STB) drives the economic growth in one of Singapore’s key
service sectors – tourism. This industry contributes three percent to
Singapore’s GDP. By the year 2015, the STB seeks to increase tourism’s
contribution to the economy by tripling tourism receipts to S$30
billion, doubling visitor arrivals to 17 million and creating an
additional 100,000 jobs in the services sector.
The STB aims to
develop Singapore to become a destination of choice, a powerful tourism
hub attracting visitors, businesses and talents. To do so, the STB has
identified three key areas of focus – strengthening Singapore’s position
as a Leading Convention and Exhibition City in Asia, developing
Singapore as a leading Asian leisure destination, and establishing
Singapore as the Services Centre of Asia.
The STB's market
development efforts will be reinforced by its international operations
which cover the key markets in Asia, Oceania, Europe and Americas, with
expanded resources to capitalise on growth markets like P R China and
India.
Through the
proliferation of the destination brand “Uniquely Singapore”, the
STB continues to create exciting and innovative experiences for our
visitors to position Singapore as a memorable and compelling
destination.
