A non-profit organisation, it has, from its inception, been dedicated to fostering printmaking, papermaking, and paper-based art practice, collection, and education. STPI is a fully-equipped printmaking workshop, a professional art gallery, and a leading paper mill, that covers the full spectrum of development of prints and paper art. From making the paper, to collaborating with artists and printing their original works, to display, appreciation and sale of pieces: the entire process takes place in one building alongside the Singapore River.

STPI is, further, a centre for international collaborations, bringing renowned artists and their works into the region, and making locally-published art available to international buyers and galleries.
