PROGRAMMES

a. GLOBAL MBA Programme

The highly rigorous one-year, full-time, Global MBA program of the S P Jain Center of Management (S P Jain) is designed to train individuals to work in the new global economy. With over 900 teaching hours, the course is equal to most two-year MBA programs.

Today companies prefer to recruit individuals who have general management skills as well as domain expertise. Managing a person's wealth could be quite different from managing logistics in a global company. It's an era of sharpening one's management skills - an age of specialization. S P Jain's MBA program offers nine cutting edge super-specializations in:

  • Investment Banking

  • Wealth Management

  • Banking Management

  • Retail Management

  • Services Marketing and Management

  • Product Marketing and Management

  • Information Technology Management

  • Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management

  • Global Human Resources Management

b. EXECUTIVE MBA (EMBA) Programme

The EMBA is a two-year program designed to meet the needs of academically qualified professionals who wish to pursue an MBA degree while continuing with the full responsibilities of their workplace. The program requires serious commitment on part of the individual. The course work is rigorous and demanding; the result is an educational experience which ranks among the finest available in the region today.

Present day emerging business challenges require corporates to create a reservoir of versatile executives, having a strong blend of functional knowledge along with a general management perspective. Formal management education through a full-time MBA program can meet this need; but is not practical, requiring executives to stay away from their work place for an extended period.

Distance education programs and other similar options lack quality, relevance to field realities, and hence, effectiveness.

The EMBA program at SPJCM is uniquely designed, to ensure it has the potential to address the above shortcomings and bridge the gap by providing high quality management education to practicing executives in the UAE and Singapore.

The EMBA alternative-week class structure means you can continue at your job while you simultaneously apply your new knowledge to improve your performance at work.

The EMBA at the SPJCM brings together some of the best business management faculty and a select group of highly motivated professionals in an intensely charged classroom experience. Working as a member of a team, on one hand you will learn the latest business theories and practices courtesy SPJCM's renowned faculty while learning about real-world business practices from your peers - in the process, you develop life-long relations with both.

The Unique Differentiators:-

SPJCM’s EMBA program is a result of continuous, meticulous upgrading of the curriculum and is benchmarked against the best programs in the world.

The curriculum reflects an exclusive focus on creating and nurturing specialist managers and professionals in the fields of Finance, Marketing and Operations. The program structure is designed in such a way that it starts with a set of core courses on general management and builds on a set of specialization courses, which provide an in-depth coverage in a particular area.

This rich exposure to a wide variety of relevant courses in a particular field (Finance, Marketing or Operations) ensures the development and application of highly specialized skills and competencies in that particular field.

Philosophic Underpinnings

SPJCM's approach to its academic offerings has been to formulate details based on definite and distinctive foundational premises. For the EMBA program, these are:

  • The conventional classroom mode of learning can be leveraged significantly through non-classroom activities
    - a belief borne out of the successful practice of pedagogic approaches at SPJIMR, India with their other programs.

  • Professional education can be best acquired by a two-stage process of :
    - acquisition of knowledge of theoretical concepts followed by
    - application of the concepts to real life situations

  • Formal management education needs to sensitize participants to appreciate that the onus of learning in the ultimate analysis is mainly on the learner and that:
    - the process of learning needs to be continuous throughout the career and
    - the sources and methods of learning are varied.

Program Design

The philosophic underpinnings stated above are planned to be achieved through a range of pedagogic inputs and learning themes built into the program design. Application of knowledge and customization are the two fundamental features of the architecture of the program. At every stage, participants will be encouraged to introspect with a view to inculcating in them an ability to use intellectual curiosity to handle real life problems and learn from the outcomes thereof.
